Recap-New Site Still Underway

Hello lovely bloggies!!! Sorry for being MIA the past few days. I’ve been working on getting my own hosted site up and running and it’s taking a bit longer than expected. In the meantime I am going to continue to use this one and I hope you all keep reading and follow me to my new site once it’s in working order. It is going to be wonderful and I hope you all like it!!!!!

Here is a bit of a recap of just a few of the things I’ve been snacking on the past couple days. I didn’t take picture of everything, but I have been eating more yogurt again since my stomach hasn’t been acting up. Basically this is a snack recap!

We all went paintballing in the morning and had a blast!!!! I don’t have any food photos because I was out in the Jungle flexing my stealth skills and dominating the battleground!

Joey and I were invited to a very special grad party at the Harvard Club for my cousin Lucy. It was so nice to see that part of the family again and for Joey to meet some powerful people. It’s all about networking people!

SUNDAY MORNING

This morning I woke up to a comforting bowl of oat bran. Today it was extra creamy and good.

Today I am off to go to Total Body Conditioning at the BSC. I don’t really have any other plans besides possibly checking out the Dragon Boat races on the Charles River. I think I am going to plan on doing that, but I have some advertising work to squeeze in somewhere today. Tomorrow, back to the grind of beginning a new week.

I hope you all had a fabulous and enjoyable weekend. From reading all your blogs on Google Reader sounds like there were some fun activities going on…ex: bowling, surfing, marathons, etc.

Walked my Sox Off Today

HOLY MOLY!!!! I have walked so much today that at one point my legs switched to autopilot and I forgot I was even walking. I was so numb and now I am exhausted. It all started after my workout and right after lunch, Caroline and I decided we needed to spend some money so we walked our SOX (since we’re in Boston) OFF, literally.

We walked all the way down Newbury and after picking out a really cute eye shadow in MAC I realized I forgot my wallet at home. UGH! So we had to walk alllll the way back, then to the Prudential Center, then to JCrew to get these really soft boyfriend t-shirts (ON SALE go buy!), then walk all the way to Whole Foods so I could get my grocery shopping fix for the day.

So to sum it up I’ve basically been excersizing non-stop all day. Feel pretty good about lounging now!

Now I am lounging and regaining my strength to cook up a super easy repeat of last night’s Mexican Quesadilla feast. I figured we should use up all the stuff we had leftover last night…trying to make sure I eat everything before they go bad, I hate throwing things away.

Also, Joey and I are finally going to a late showing of Up! I can’t wait to see it and laugh, cry, giggle, and do whatever you do when you watch the magic of Pixar.

So today I have been fairly productive. I got my laundry done, went and worked out, ate a good lunch, and even went and got a facial!!!! Hey it’s personal day, a little extravagance here and there won’t hurt. I also went and bought the ingredients to make me a GREEN MONSTER SMOOTHIE for breakie tomorrow!!!!!

I recently read a post by the lovely Angela at Oh She Glows and she mentioned the benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar. I have never tried it before so I am hoping it will be a good addition to a smoothie!

Lunch

After the gym I rushed home and whipped up this lunch before heading back out the door to get a facial and pick up Green Monster goodness.

Really good combo. I thought it was going to be a little weird, but i really wanted to use up some of the cabbage in my fridge. It was super tasty, so I will be making that again!

While eating my snack I got soooo freakin frusterated with Gmail. Supposedly I am over quota, but I emptied my trash, deleted a ton of important emails, and now have nothing in my email box, but still get bounced emails when receiving them!!!! AAAHHHHH!!!!!

To blow off some steam I am off to watch Joey’s club softball game. Hopefully that will help. I don’t know what I am going to do about this email situation, and there is no contact number to call Google!! GRRR….

Anywho I am taking a new flavor kombucha on the walk with me….I will be back with dinner and game results.

Pazzo Dinner Recap & Warm Saturday

Yesterday evening Joey and I went out to a fabulous Italian dinner at the new Pazzo Restaurant on Newbury St. It was just warm enough for us to eat outside so we def took advantage of that. Before heading to dinner we had a couple summer gin cocktails to kick off the night.

Before our main course we split the margarita pizza with their homemade mozzarella…forgot to take pic.

I ordered the Pesto Grilled salmon on a bed of arugula, cannelini beans, feta, and radishes

Joey ordered the wild boar bolognese. He really enjoyed this manly dish.

After dinner we met up with Joey’s long time friend Luke Daly and headed back to my house to see if we could hear Dave Matthew’s band from my roof deck. No luck :(. So we decided to head over to Daisy Buchanan’s on Newbury for a couple bevvies.

We ended up having a great time and meeting some new people. Town was hopping by 11:30 since the concert got out. Around 12:30 Joey and I called it a night and headed home to an ice cream bar!!! I still haven’t purchased my ice cream cones, but tomorrow I will most def do that!!!!!

SATURDAY THUS FAR

Joey and I somehow managed to get our groggy hungover bodies out of bed and head to Club Strength this morning at 9:30AM. I am soooo happy I went, it really helped sweat out some of the toxins haha.

Joey and I made a quick stop at TJ’s to get some buttermilk and oats so we can make overnight oatmeal pancake mix for Sunday Morning breakfast.

On the walk home I had a pure protein shake — vanilla flavor.

Aggravation of the day (try not to have many of these): The post office supposedly closes at noon on Saturdays and I had no idea about this. I tried to send off my SECRET BLOGGIE PACKAGE today, but oops I was 45 min. late. I guess I’ll have to send it off first this Monday morning. Grrrrrr….

Today is another rainy day and there were no good classes at the gym sooooo…IM SKIPPING! I rather bake up all my goodies for my secret bloggie box and send it off. I can’t wait to recieve my gift box!!!!! Such a good idea!

So, I’m super nervous that I might be developing a slight lactose intolerance. For the past week when I eat a bigger portion of cottage cheese or yogurt I get these terrible stomach aches about 1/2 hour after eating it. I absolutely love cottage cheese, yogurt, and all dairy!!! Ahhhh what do I do???? I can drink a small glass of milk just fine, and yesterday I had a little cottage cheese ontop of half an english muffin and I was fine…it happens when my portion gets 1/2 cup or bigger. Ballz this sucks!

I bought some hempmilk to try out so I look forward to having a bowl of cereal using this. I really home my stomach shapes of, but I guess for now I am going to cut out yogurt and cottage cheese for a week and see what happens.

This afternoon I am going to lunch with my friends Whitney and Sydney and this place called Figs! Should be delish, but I will let you know!

Tonight Dave Matthew’s band is playing in Fenway Park so I am going to go up on my rooftop deck and see if I can listen!!!! How cool will that be if I get a free concert from my roof deck!

Well it’s super rainy, so I might attempt to walk to lunch, but we will see. I have a stomach ache from breakfast so I am going to snag a Kombucha and wait till the aches pass.

Fresh Pesto Movie Night

Today ended up being just the nice relaxing day I had planned. After hitting up the gym for Club Strength I came home to see Joey still home, he was headed off to play some hockey. Right away I made some lunch because all that weight pumpin made me starving.

After I headed to Whole Foods to pick up some SECRET BLOGGER GOODIES!!! I of course ended up spending more than I wanted, as always, but I picked up some nice fresh pesto to use for tonights dinner….I am making Joey Pesto Pasta with Chicken.

On the walk home I ate a fuji apple.

When I put away all the unnecessary groceries and started my secret blogger package, I went to whipping up a batch of Angela’s Raw Granola Bars at Oh She Glows.

For some reason I have been getting bad stomach aches about 30 min after eating a big portion of yogurt or cottage cheese. I think I need to cut back on the dairy a little bit to see if it helps…I bought some hemp milk to try out for the first time!

Do you get any side effects from dairy when you eat it too much?

This dinner was so nice, healthy, and summery. I keep forgetting how good fresh pesto is!!!!!

Tonight Joey and I are going to watch a movie from On Demand. Maybe some dessert will be involved….as always…

Oh right! Dessert is a def. because the lovely Brooke over at Home Girl Can Eat has been having the most delish looking ice cream cones. I forgot to get me some cones, but I got some yummalicious ice cream in the freezer. Cones are the grocery list!!!

Rain & First Day of Summer Session

Today is my first day of summer session. I am only taking one class so I don’t think I am going to be too packed with work, which is good since it’s summer and I shouldn’t even be in school right now hahha. I am glad I am getting one class out of the way though, and it’s for my major so wahoo.

This morning I woke up and had a nice light breakfast since I will be sitting on my ass until I head to class at 1. I still need to pick up a notebook and a few pens for class, and I wanna go to Starbucks because my class goes from 1-4:45. Oof we will see how that goes!

Yay Friday!! Last Day Home

It’s a beautiful Friday morning here in Sun Valley. It’s my last day home before I head back to Boston tomorrow. I start summer classes next Wed. I am only taking 1 class on Mon. and Wed. so I think I am going to take cooking classes at the Boston School for Adult Education and maybe some Web site classes so I can learn how to make my blog super cool. I am not very good at the whole internet Web site tools and codes.

Last night we had a nice little dinner party with a couple of my close friends and some of my parents friends. My Dad made his famous Spicy Chicken Pasta!!! It was unbelievably good. I didn’t take any photos because I was too involved with my guests and having way too much fun. It was a fabulous night though. I will post the recipe to my Dad’s pasta soon because it is so good you can’t stop eating it. Every person who has tried it fell in love.

I was thinking of going to pilates this morning, but I’m sore from Body Pump yesterday and I really wasn’t feeling a slow mat class. Tomorrow I’ll go to Body Pump again, but for today it’s a personal relaxation day.

Tonight I am taking Joey’s Mom to an amazing restaurant here that uses all locally grown ingredients. Its out of this world good, especially their carrot cake!!!!!!

Tai Chi? hmmmm

So this morning, feeling groggy as ever, I decided to try out Tai Chi at my gym. I had no idea what to expect and it was not quite the workout I was looking for to sweat the toxins out of my system. It was good to see what it was all about though. This afternoon I’m planning on ZUMBAing it up!!!!! Get my booty shakin with some good music. Hellz yes that’s my kinda workout!

MONDAY eats so far:

Day n’ Nite

Zoe’s Granola Review + TGIF

Yesterday afternoon, after zooming around and eating my lunch so fast I thought I was going to throw up on my way to my hair app., I came home and broke into my Zoe’s granola samples. I was so excited to get the chance to review their products and I have heard so many good things about them. I can never find zoe’s anywhere around Boston! I also received some of their bars so I will prob bust into those today and review them.

Anyways, yesterday I samples all three and they were all equally delicious!!!!! This granola has such good nutrition stats

Each serving contains:

  • 115% Daily Value ALA Omega-3 (1500mg)
  • 7g Fiber
  • 8g Protein
  • Ground Flaxseed
  • Wheat Free (Contains gluten from oats.)
  • Low Sodium
  • No Trans Fatty Acids
  • Weight Watchers Points: 3

I first tried the Honey Almond flavor:P5070005I loved the nice big clusters and the sliced almonds. Any granola with almonds in it is def the best! The flavor was very healthy tasting, but really good. It def stands up to it’s reputations and I love that the serving size is 3/4 cup and 190 calories!!!!!!!! The honey flavor was not overpowering, which I enjoyed and overall it wasn’t too sweet. I could def eat a bowl of this or use it as a topping on my oats.

Cinnamon Raisin:P5070001I loved the Raisins in this one!!!! It’s like a way healthier verison of Raisin Bran Crunch!!! I really like this one a lot. The cinnamon flavor was not overpowering and the clusters were nice and big. I wish there were a bit more raisins throughout the box, but they might just be hiding at the bottom. I’ll have to go hunting! I would rate this one second to the Honey Almond just because I’m an almond freak. If the Honey Almond one had raisins in it it would be bomb!

Cranberries & Currants:P5070006This was similar to the Cinnamon raisin one, but without the cinnamon. I enjoyed this one and the cranberries were a great addition. I think I prefer the other to more, but this one would be great mixed with other cereals. Again, there was a lacking in the cranberry and currant department, but again they may be at the bottom of the box.

OVERALL: Props to Zoe for making a very tasty and satifying collections of granolas that are very healthy! I’ve decided their my new go-to granola. The serving size is big for granola, which is great. I mean, what is up with that 1/4 cup serving for 250 calories in all the other granolas??? PLEASE TRY THIS BRAND OF GRANOLA….IT WILL NOT LET YOU DOWN!

I ended up eating some of the Honey Almond with yogurt as my afternoon snack. It was fabulous!!!!P5070008ON TO TODAY:

this morning I woke up with the sun blasting into my room, making it too hot for me to sleep so I was up at 730AM! Ugh I can’t sleep in anymore and it’s getting kinda frusterating! I guess I’m a morning person!
